The Circle of Page

The Circle of Page is a local non-profit organized in 2003 by several churches and businesses in page to help feed the hungry and provide emergency relief to individuals and families in need.  It is governed by a Board of Directors and includes the Food Pantry, Healthy Meals Kitchen and the Emergency Fund desk.  It is located here at St. David’s, but draws volunteers from everywhere.  They served 25,119 individuals in 2019 with the help of over 4600 volunteer hours.  The Healthy meals kitchen continues to prepare and serve meals twice a week.  With the help of many volunteers, Healthy Meals served 9257 meals in 2019, including their Holiday meal that served around 600 people.  The Emergency Fund assists with rent, utilities, prescriptions, repairs and other miscellaneous emergencies.  In 2019, it spent $11,334 with $9300 of that going for rent and emergency housing.  Funds for the Circle of Page come from individual donations and a monthly donation from Faith Bible Church and Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church.  St. David’s donates “in-kind” by providing the facilities, copying costs and most of the utilities.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Desk in Page was set up to assist clients with their utility bills through the SHARE Program.  Any assistance not covered by SHARE is taken out of our local funds, which come from our annual bell ringing campaign (those red kettles you see during November and December) and individual donations.  Our bell ringing campaign in 2019 brought in around $3400.  We were able to assist 67 families in 2019 spending $14,850.  As our local funds diminish, so will the assistance we can give.

FUNDS FOR BOTH THE CIRCLE OF PAGE AND THE SALVATION ARMY HAVE GONE DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY WITH THE CLOSING OF THE POWER PLANT.  WE USED TO RECEIVE A GENEROUS MONTHLY DONATION FROM THE NGS EMPLOYEE BOOSTERS ASSOCIATION FOR BOTH ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE WILL NO LONGER RECEIVE, IMPACTING THE AMOUNT OF EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE WE CAN PROVIDE.
