Clergy

We are in the Search process for a new Rector.

Music Director

I am Cathy Gomez, church musician.  I am married, the mother of 3 grown children, and am employed by the City of Page in the Finance Department.  My family relocated to Page in 1987 from the Phoenix area hoping to find a small town atmosphere in which to raiCathy Gomez, Music Directorse our children.  We were enticed here by the lake and also Darrell Bunch, oldest brother to my mother, and we have always been grateful to live in such a beautiful place.  I have now also relocated my parents here, so I am able to aid in their care which has been a great blessing.

I've been involved in church music for over 30 years, most recently playing for 13 years at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Page.  My background is originally in the Baptist church, but I now classify myself as a "generic" Christian - free to move about the world church at large and worship with Christians of all faiths.  I am very committed to bring music into the worship environment to enhance the experience of God's presence.  He created music so that we might have an outlet to worship and glorify his name, and there is just a special feeling in your heart when you worship the Lord in song.

I am especially grateful for the opportunity to join in the litugury at St. David's - Psalms 95:1-2 Come let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation; Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song!

Parish Administrator

Jody Gebhardt moved to Page in 1999, but has been in love with this area since 1958, when her parents first brought her to the Grand Canyon. She grew up in Boston, MA, attended Vassar College and graduated from UMass with a degree in American Literature. After working in Flagstaff, AZ to document and preserve the downtown area, she went on to receive a Masters in Urban Planning in 1983 from the University of Virginia. She worked in the Washington DC area for nearly twenty years, first as a land use and historic preservation planner, then as a garden center owner. But the Colorado Plateau kept calling her name, so Jody moved back to Arizona, landing in Page. For seven years, she ran the local ice cream shoJody hiking with her dog Indyp, the Big Dipper.

Jody came to St. David's in September, 2001, attracted by the Centering Prayer program and in search of community. She has served on Vestry, as a Convention delegate, led hikes, taken part in women's retreats, and participates in much of the life of the church whether she is planning it or not. In December 2003, she became the part time Secretary, gradually increasing responsibilities and commitment to become Parish Administrator. Since selling the Big Dipper in January 2007, St. David's has been her sole work. She considers it more of a ministry than a job.

Jody is married to John Crowther, whom she met while hiking in 2004. Their wedding was held at Marble Canyon Lodge in October 2005, with a hike after the reception. Aside from her husband John, her loves s include the Red Sox, Labradors, birdwatching, gardening, hiking and cooking.

Jody gets nervous whenever she is off the Colorado Plateau.
